Population Research and Policy Review (PRPR) is the official journal of the Southern Demographic Association. PRPR publishes high-quality material of interest to a broad range of population scientists and demographers, and those working in fields that intersect and overlap with population studies—including anthropology, criminology, economics, family studies, geography, gerontology, psychology, public health, public policy, sociology, and statistics. PRPR is interested in basic research that advances empirical and theoretical knowledge, as well as more applied research on population processes and changing population composition. The journal is open to empirical manuscripts using rigorous quantitative, qualitative, archival, and comparative-historical approaches. With an interdisciplinary and global focus, the journal strives to publish research that—either directly or indirectly—informs policy and program development. The journal accepts three types of submissions: traditional empirical Research Articles, more applied/descriptive Brief Reports, and Research Reviews. PRPR also publishes Special Issues.
