Since 1970, the Southern Demographic Association has hosted an annual meeting each fall, usually in October. The SDA meeting provides a friendly venue for people to present academic and applied demographic research, to discuss and learn about population issues, and to meet others with common interests.
The Southern Demographic Association's 2021 annual meeting will take place in Knoxville, Tennessee, Monday, October 4, through Wednesday October 6, 2021 at the Crowne Plaza Knoxville in the heart of downtown. This will also be a celebration of SDA's 50th anniversary.
The Southern Demographic Association was founded in 1970 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. To celebrate our 50th anniversary (minus one COVID year), we will return to the area of our founding by meeting in nearby Knoxville, which is within easy driving distance to Asheville, Nashville, Atlanta, and the Great Smoky Mountains. The City of Knoxville is a hidden gem with a beautiful and walkable downtown, varied nightlife, active neighborhoods, and eclectic shopping and restaurants. Come and help us celebrate our anniversary! We are excited to see everyone again in 2021.
All proposals and abstracts should be submitted by Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:59 pm CDT through the following Google Form: SDA Abstract Submissions.
The conference hotel is the Crowne Plaza Knoxville. SDA rate details TBA.
